If you’re unsure—call us. We prioritise:
- Severe toothache or sensitivity – pain to hot/cold or biting
- Broken, chipped, or fractured tooth
- Knocked-out (avulsed) tooth
- Loose or dislodged crown/bridge/filling
- Dental abscess, swelling, or pimple on gums
- Trauma or laceration to lips, tongue, or cheeks
- Cracked denture or broken appliance
- Orthodontic emergencies – poking wire, broken bracket
- Post-op pain or dry socket after an extraction
Immediate first-aid tips (until you reach us):
- Tooth knocked out: Handle by the crown, not the root. If clean, gently reinsert in the socket and bite on gauze. If you can’t, keep it moist in milk or a tooth-preservation kit—do not let it dry out.
- Broken/chipped tooth: Rinse gently with warm water; save any fragments in milk. Avoid chewing on the injured side.
- Severe toothache: Rinse with warm salt water. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever you normally use (avoid placing aspirin on the gum).
- Lost filling/crown: If the tooth is sensitive, a small amount of temporary dental cement (from a pharmacy) can protect it until we see you.
- Bleeding: Apply gentle pressure with clean gauze or a tea bag for 10–15 minutes.
- Swelling: Apply a cold compress outside the cheek in 10-minute intervals.
